Call For Proposals


The Presentation submission opens August 1, 2017. Send your proposal to tech-committee@netdevconf.info before September 20, 2017 using the following format:

  • Title: Title of the proposal.
  • Type: [BoF | Talk | Tutorial | Workshop].
  • Description: (350 words max).
  • Name: Submitter names
  • Length: (talk = 45 minutes max., tutorial = 90 minutes max.).

Once your proposal is accepted, please prepare your paper based on odt template or latex one. If you're already registered then you will be refunded as a speaker. If you're not registered already then your registration fee will be waivered. Please remember that missed deadline could lead to your submitted session(s) being cancelled.


Proposal Deadlines

  • Call for proposals close - September 20, 2017
  • Paper submission for review - October 20, 2017
  • Slides submission - November 1, 2017


Proposal Topics

  • IOT networking.
  • XDP/BPF.
  • DDOS.
  • Wireless.
  • Performance analysis and improvement.
  • Networking hardware and offload.
  • Netfilter.
  • Traffic control.
  • Different networking layers (L2/3, etc.).
  • Security.
  • Additional topics can be suggested.

Please stay within the relevant topic focus and tie to FOSS Linux networking. We also strongly discourage submission of recycled talks. In addition to the schedule announcement, proposals will be regularly announced as they get accepted on our website and relevant lists.


Proposal Types

1. Talk

  • One or more of authors elaborating on accepted proposal within 45minutes.
  • 2-10 pages (not including references) paper submission of the talk is required in odt or latex format.

2. Workshops

  • Networking subsystem maintainer(s) should coordinate workshop participants' topics in advance and lead the session.
  • Topics should be extension of mailinglist topics in round-table format.
  • Length of the workshop can vary (within reason) and no slides nor paper(s) are required

3. BoF

  • At least one of the presenters is in charge of introduction of the topic(s), chairing and moderating the discussions
  • Expect active participation from audiences as BoF is served as a platform to engage in initial discussions of the proposed topic
  • Length of the BoFs can vary (within reason) and no slides nor paper(s) are required

4. Tutorial

  • As introduction of a new topic to the audiences, presentation should include practical examples of the functionality.


Proposal Materials Submission


Accepted presenter(s) should submit PDF version of slides to info@netdevconf.info and tech-committee@netdevconf.info.

Once you're invited to submit a paper, please send the paper to both info@netdevconf.info and tech-committee@netdevconf.info.
